Truly Madness

This truly is MADNESS! We are just a few days away from having our third child!! How awesome and exciting is that? A bit stressful too, but we can’t wait to meet the new one. Tuesday is the day they are supposed to induce Kristie. I imagine not long after that she’ll be asking for a Fudge Round since she’s so sick of this diet she’s on.

Great Big Group Date

Skybacher Ministries Inc. had the annual Great Big Group Valentine’s Date. It was awesome. We went to Spaghetti Warehouse, PPG Ice Skating and topped things off with a ride on the Incline and a walk around Mt. Washington. We got to know a lot of new kids and ones we already knew well even better.

In March we’re having a Cosmic Capture the Flag event at Unionville. Please keep Kristie in your prayers as the hour gets closer. Next report should have a new person for ya to meet!!! Wahoooooooooo!

It’s A Blast!!

Well, we had our Dodgeball Blast tournament on the 15th of January, and it was awesome!! The students that came out had a blast (literally). We had nearly 100 kids come out for the event, with 3 of the teams made up of kids not connected to any particular church, but just kids that John was able to talk to while substitute teaching, or kids who heard about it from other kids – that is so exciting!! John was able to give a quick message to the kids about living out their dreams, and shared some more about the ministry. We have received many positive e-mails from kids wanting to know when the next events are – God is so amazing!!
On the homefront, Babycakes is just a few weeks away…AAH!! We are looking forward to this new addition and all that God has for he/she. Please keep these last couple weeks in prayer.
We have the Great Big Group Date coming up Valentine’s weekend, and then Lazer Tag in March, so we should have lots to report in the coming weeks and months. Thanks for all the support!

A New Year

Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas and New Year. Ours was a lot of fun, but it went way too fast. We had a great turn out at the Broomball Tournament on the 17th. Six teams battled it out in the wee hours of the night, with Oak Hill Alliance taking the crown. It was a lot of fun. This weekend we are having the Skybacher Ministries Inc. Dodgeball Blast at Unionville Church. We should have a good group of kids coming out. My only disappointment is that the Steelers are playing during the tournament, and we actually lost a few teams because of that, but what can you do. I am finally done with the Toy’s R’ Us night shift, and have gotten back to some normal sleeping hours. I’m at school today (working hard as you can tell). Hopefully I will have some broomball and dodgeball pictures up soon. Later

Turkey & Stuffing

Well we had the first annual Skybacher Ministries Inc. Turkey & Stuffing Volleyball Tournament. It was a big success. We had 9 teams covering 6 different churches. It felt so good to be doing an event like that again. Thank you to all of our friends and family who helped out during the event. The Sunday after the event my body just fell apart and I got really sick, so that is why it has taken so long to get this info up. I’m recovering now, but I have been asking a lot of my body on very little sleep. Ty got really sick too, with an ear infection, and his ear drum actually ruptured (OUCH). Needless to say, he kept us up a few nights, but we’re all doing better now!. Hard to believe it’s already December 2nd, and the Steelers are 10-1!! Woohoo!

Bake Sales, V-Ball & a New Cousin

Hello everyone!!
Bake SaleJust wanted to give an update on the bake sales from Friday and Monday – even amidst rain, God still raised about $250 from the goodies provided by so many family and friends. He is so good!!! Thanks for all the prayers offered up for this fundraiser.

We are looking forward to the Turkey & Stuffing Volleyball tournament for this Friday night – we have 5 area churches coming as well as some other teams of friends, family, etc. It should be tons of fun, and we would greatly appreciate your prayers for this event.

Finally, a huge praise as we are an aunt and uncle again!! Chris & Julie (Kristie’s sister) had a baby girl at 5:22pm today. Her name is Emily Rose, and was 21 1/2 inches long, and 8 lbs. 13 oz. – Such a gift from God is new life!! She is beautiful with tons of hair – mom is doing really well, too. The Hooke family has grown to 8 grandchildren – praise the Lord for that!! (with 2 more to come in the next 6 months)

The Lord Is Good To Me

We have a family tradition that for meals we sing the Johnny Appleseed song. Which goes the Lord is good to me and so I thank the Lord for giving me, the things I need, the rain the sun, and the appleseed. Ty loves this song and sings it for every meal. Tonight I gave him popcorn for snack and before he ate he made sure he sang the song. Kids are so good at reminding us to be thankful for the simple things. The Lord truly is good to me.
