Right now I’m pretty busy running summer sports camps @ Skybacher Ministries. I don’t have much time for cartoons and graphic design but I do occasionally complete a cartoon of one of the characters I act out during the camp. This guy here is an all-time fan favorite. Mobacca is a Jamaican soccer player who makes fruit smoothies for the campers! It’s great fun. This here was a design I made for t-shirts. So here he is Mobacca!

I’ve been working a basketball camp all week for Skybacher Ministries. I always do a character called J-Mo who is kind of an Urban Hip-Hop Basketball Player Wannabe. He brings along his friend D.J. Blenda. Both characters are a big hit with the kids! So this is a cartoon of those two beloved camp characters.

Rafa Nadal
He’s the number 1 ranked player in the world. He’s on his way to another French Open Title. He’s won 9 Grand Slam Titles! Rafael Nadal! I hadn’t made any tennis players yet, but when I decided to give it a try I had to make Nadal! I love Federer too but Rafael is just a great character. Enjoy!

So I gave myself a challenge yesterday to design a sumo cartoon. I figured it’s a great illustration that everyone should have. My wife was horrified when she saw me sketching this in bed, but then I told her to wait for the finished product. So here is my attempt at a sumo guy, and I’ve even transformed him to a coloring page as well. Enjoy

Nani, Rooney, Berbatov
Ok I have to hand it to them, Manchester United has won the Premier League Title. Congratulations! I’m not a big fan but respect them anyway. I’ve drawn a ton of soccer cartoons over the past 2 and half years but not many of them have been players from Manchester United. I had to take a stab at who I think should have been the player of the year: Nani. I also included the winner of the Golden Boot Dimitar Berbatov. Finally I added Rooney the heart and soul of the team, who wanted to go to Manchester City half way through the season. (Still gotta take a jab or two). Someday I wanna add a very respectable hard working (old Grandpa) Ryan Giggs, but he’ll have to wait. So Congratulations Manchester United, and Chelsea will be back next year if we can find someone to take Torres off of us!
